We build robust web applications with open source software and PHP, leveraging low cost of ownership and time-tested capabilities for our clients.

Soliant has been building applications with Linux, Apache, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and PHP (commonly referred to as the "LAMP" suite) from the early stages of these technologies' evolution. We’ve watched PHP become an industry standard and the middleware of choice for millions of businesses around the world.
Our expertise in JavaScript, Ajax, Perl, and other ubiquitous web technologies has allowed us to deliver complex web systems in the evolving Web 2.0 world.
Our consultants are certified in open source technologies, notably MySQL and PHP, and actively incorporate advances such as the Zend Framework into our work.
IBM's web application server is built on software from the Apache Foundation. MySQL is owned and supported by Sun Microsystems. PHP was first introduced in 1995 and runs on virtually every operating system of significance. Both Novell and Redhat produce Linux operating systems and its continuing development is supported significantly by IBM and Hewlett-Packard. PostgreSQL provides the database back end for all DNS queries in the .org and .info domains.
Open source software is well established, well proven, and in the case of the Apache Web Server, the market leading platform of choice by a wide margin.
Soliant has specialized in these technologies in order to provide affordable web solutions for workgroups that scale to enterprise levels as necessary. In every case, they are sanctioned by the IT community and widely used.
Open source software and open standards for the web allow us to leverage existing applications in content management systems (CMS), business intelligence (BI), and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions. In a wide-range of projects, we adopt open, existing software rather than develop from scratch. With this pragmatic approach we offer the best of both worlds: adopt existing open source software, saving hundreds or sometimes thousands of development hours, and extend where necessary.
