Position: Project Manager
Location: San Mateo, CA (San Francisco Bay Area)

Project Managers at Soliant Consulting serve a hybrid role: they act as our primary relationship managers with our clients and are responsible for managing both projects and teams.
This includes establishing the scope of projects; assembling and updating project budgets; assigning resources to projects; and keeping clients involved and informed. Key responsibilities include:
- Track project progress against stated objectives and to report to both clients and team members on project progress.
- Maintain records for the project, establish budgets for dollars and time, and take primary responsibility for setting client expectations.
- Find and manage adequate resources to assign to the project to maintain the project on its stated timelines and business objectives.
- Keep customers informed of progress.
- Follow-up on new business opportunities clients may have.
- Work with new and existing customers to effectively gather and document project requirements.
- Request, prepare, and issue all invoices.
- Potentially manage up to three or four direct reports.
- 4-year degree or equivalent; post-grad experience a plus.
- Unquestionably strong organizational discipline.
- Experience leading and documenting successful software projects in a consulting capacity.
- Ability to listen to problems, analyze information, and then make appropriate recommendations to clients.
- Understanding of the software development process – as appropriate for a varied size and range of projects.
- Experience with managing (medium to large) multi-person, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong computer skills – MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.
- FileMaker Pro, SQL, or PHP familiarity.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills.
- Experience and desire to work within a small company.
- Ability to meet with customers to gather and document project requirements and put together proposals that define the technical solutions, budgets, and timelines necessary to meet client requirements.
- In-depth understanding of workflow, flow charts, and use cases, including how to use them effectively to define the project requirements.
- Experience and understanding of the estimating process – ability to track progress against a fixed budget.
- Either local or willing to relocate.
- Solid educational background.
