Position: Managing Director (Team Leader/Manager)
Location: Philadelphia Metro Region

Team Leaders at Soliant Consulting are primarily responsible for our client engagements, building long-term client relationships, the overall quality of our work, and for hiring and training team members.

This includes monitoring the health of all assigned projects, recruiting, bringing in new business, and serving as an escalation path for clients. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead software development teams.
• Work with clients to provide superior service and deliver successful projects.
• Manage direct reports (managers), perform reviews.
• Recruit for the firm, make hiring recommendations.
• Take responsibility for the profitability of the business unit.
• Take responsibility for the client satisfaction of the business unit.
• Assist with sales: contribute to proposal detail (estimates, schedules, initial scope) and meet with prospective clients as needed.
• Oversee business mechanics: invoicing, scheduling, utilization, etc.
• Provide leadership in either technical or project management areas of specialization.
• Serve as a mentor for select staff members.

• 4-year degree or equivalent; post-grad experience a plus.
• Extensive experience with software development processes, PMP Certification a strong plus.
• Significant experience with consulting and service-oriented business.
• 6+ years experience in managing direct reports.
• Background in PHP/SQL, Adobe Flex, FileMaker Pro or equivalent rapid application development (Lotus Notes/Domino, data-driven web sites, XML/XSLT, etc.) for multiple workgroup users.
• Fundamental grasp of software development processes, project, requirements gathering, risk management, specification writing, user interface design, quality assurance, and project management.
• Ability to quickly understand complex business processes in a wide variety of industries and the good judgment to guide both clients and developers in how to define an appropriate technical design.
• Intelligence and intellectual curiosity – a desire to learn.
• Unambiguous integrity and a strong desire to serve clients.
• Entrepreneurial drive.
