The Wine Spectrum specializes in the ultra premium wine category and has been selling wines directly to fine wine enthusiasts and collectors across the country since 1990. Their FileMaker Pro database system serves as the backbone of their operational systems, most notably their customer relationship management systems. Developed over a number of years, the system had grown to comprise 44 FileMaker Pro 5.5 files. In the summer of 2007, faced with new requirements and the desire for better deployment options, Wine Spectrum turned to Soliant Consulting to convert to FileMaker Pro 9.
Soliant developed a conversion plan and executed the six-week project so that there was a seamless transition of this mission critical system. As part of the project, remote sales reps were moved from limited browser-based access to a Terminal Services interface to provide a more feature rich experience as well as much faster response times. The upgraded system allows for new enhancements to support their growth—the first such additions included shipping and inventory integration and web extensions.
