Soliant hits a "Glam Slam" with its Fourth FileMaker Training Series

With the launch of its FileMaker 10 software, FileMaker Inc. needed to update its FileMaker Training Series (FTS) manual and example software. This is the fourth consecutive time FileMaker, Inc. has turned to Bob Bowers, Steve Lane and Scott Love for their expertise with the FileMaker platform, their years as authorized trainers, and Soliant's capability to produce top-quality material.

FTS is a series of 12 training modules that cover a comprehensive set of topics designed to help intermediate to advanced developers master the essentials of FileMaker solution development. One of the main goals of the FileMaker Training Series (FTS) is to help developers build better business solutions. Better-built FileMaker applications lead to more satisfied FileMaker customers.

FileMaker turned to Soliant Consulting because it needed far more than a training product: it needed a full-service software consulting partnership. Most important to FileMaker was Soliant's track record: Soliant had produced three previous editions of the FTS Training Materials for the FileMaker 7, 8, and 9 Editions. Producing the FTS materials requires not only a tested body of knowledge on the FileMaker product line and a mastery of software development best practices, but also a full-scale, "soup to nuts" production effort.

Soliant Consulting assembled an experienced team, led by Bob Bowers, Scott Love and Steve Lane, to author, test, design and produce instructional courseware, sample FileMaker Pro databases, and QuickTime videos. Under pressure from an unmovable release deadline for the software and the challenge of the winter holidays, Soliant Consulting's FTS team partnered FileMaker, working through several review cycles to produce innovative, professional and sophisticated sample software and clear, concise instruction text.

The FileMaker Training Series is now in its fourth version. Thousands of copies have been sold around the world and hundreds of customers and developers have taken the FTS training courses. More developers are getting certified and have gained confidence in their skills. FileMaker believes this has led to better and more satisfied customers with a commitment to their platform.
